Here you will learn to add a new analytics report to BI Book. Note that this requires you to be logged in as a user.
Adding a new analytics report
Before you start, here are the basics:
- The Analytics part of BI Book is built on Power BI premium capacity, meaning we host the reports in a dedicated Power BI Service, and embed them via premium capacity. Therefore all reports in BI Book must be hosted inside the BI Book Power BI Service.
- We enable users to add new reports from:
- Existing reports which reside in BI Books Power BI Service. These are either "Link to Page" or "Link to Pages" reports.
- Power BI reports hosted in BI Books Power BI Service
- --> Meaning we have 3 report types:
- "Link to page"
- "Link to pages" and
- "Standard Report"
Adding a new Link to Page report:
- Go to Management while logged in as an admin and navigate to the Reports tab (or go directly to the page) and click Add Report
- Fill in the form:
- Choose "Report Type" as "Link to page".
- Insert any name you would like
- Choose from the existing Power BI reports and wait for your Pages to be loaded.
- Select one of the pages to your report and press "Add"
- Wait for it --> you're done!
- Press "Add Report" and wait for up to 60 seconds and your report has been added!
Adding a new Link to Pages report:
- Adding a Link to Pages is identical to adding a Link to Page described above, except several pages can be selected.
Adding a new Link to Page report:
- Go to Management while logged in as an admin and navigate to the Reports tab (or go directly to the page) and click Add Report
Adding a new Standard Report report:
- Go to Company management while logged in as an admin and navigate to the Reports tab (or go directly to the page) and click Add Report

- Choose "Report Type" as "Standard"
- Insert any name you would like
- Paste the Report URL from your BI Book integrated Power BI Service
- Choose if users with Editing or Admin rights should have the rights to edit the report.
- Press "Add Report" and wait for up to 60 seconds and your report has been added!
FAQ and Troubleshooting:
- Adding "Standard" or "Custom" Power BI Report:
- If the report is in your own Power BI tenant the report will not be added.
- The reason for this is Power BI Premium is tenant specific, meaning we need to provide you with a Power BI Workspace in our tenant in order to add a new report. Please contact support at support@bibook.com for your own Workspace in our tenant to add custom content or try out one of our pre-built report packages.
- If the report is in your own Power BI tenant the report will not be added.
